I provide specialist care for frail, elderly patients in the residential/nursing home linked to the practice.

I visit Balmoral Court each week on a Tuesday to do a ward round to review and assess the residents to ensure the most effective and efficient medical care is provided.

This includes assessing acute physical or mental illnesses, providing support with medication changes and queries, annual reviews of chronic conditions, and involving residents and families in future care planning. I also provide specialist End of Life and Palliative care to the care home residents. Since qualifying as a Adult Nurse in 2010 I have worked as a Community Staff Nurse in District Nursing teams both in Newcastle and South Tyneside NHS Trusts.

I then went on to work as a Sister at a Rehabilitation Centre for Older People in Gateshead NHS Trust in 2016 before moving to my most recent post as Nurse Practitioner within a Community Urgent Care Team in South Tyneside from 2018 until May 2022.
