A number of antenatal appointments will be arranged during your pregnancy, frequently with a midwife or sometimes an obstetrician (doctor specialising in pregnancy). They will check your health and your baby's progress and offer advice and support - for example, information regarding a healthy pregnancy diet or antenatal screening - and answer any question you may have.
During your pregnancy, you will be offered a range of tests, including blood tests and ultrasound baby scans. These tests are designed to help make your pregnancy safer, check and assess the development and wellbeing of you and the baby, and screen for particular conditions.
The ante-natal clinic provides women with access to a GP and midwife every Tuesday 9.00am -12.00noon and Friday 10.00am-11.15am.
