This is a joint Newcastle and Gateshead service which offers self-care and fast access to information , resources and expert opinion about a variety of back, neck, joint and general muscle conditions. Newcastle Carers

We are a local independent charity working citywide to provide dedicated support and information to adult carers living in Newcastle or caring for someone living in Newcastle.


Talking Helps Newcastle

The service offers help to the residents of Newcastle with any mental health issues, advice, information and support. Talking Helps is a free service to anyone registered with a Newcastle GP and aged 16+ and are effective in helping people with problems such as depression, anxiety, stress, anger, fears, bereavement and relationship difficulties.

Age UK Newcastle

Our befriending service can help reduce loneliness through a regular visit from one of our volunteer befrienders, providing contact, company and conversation. Your befriender can also help and support you to get out and about, get involved in things going on in your community and make new friends, as well as possibly reconnecting with old friends.

Alzheimer’s Society

We are the UK's leading care and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. We support people with any form of dementia. We provide information and advice through our helplines, websites and publications.


We provide training courses for local people, baby socials, toddler groups and many more courses and groups.

Disability North

Disability North is a free Independent Living Service which promotes social inclusion, independence and choice for disabled and older people in the North East of England and Cumbria. Disability North is a user led registered charity which works with, and for, disabled people, empowering them to maximise the control they have over their own lives.


The purpose of HealthWORKS is to find new ways of helping people to better health, whatever their age, health problems, ability or background. We work across the city to support people living in areas of high need to make positive lifestyle changes which can improve their health and wellbeing. Our work covers the whole life course from breast feeding support to physical activity classes for older people at risk of falls.
